Wrong. If you feel like you're in a thrift store, you won't be as careful about checking prices.
I don't even know where I got the jacket, probably some mangy thrift store.
I don't even know where I got the jacket, probably some Main G thrift store.
It was definitely like going to the thrift store and picking out whatever felt good.
It was definitely, like, going to the thrift store and picking out whatever felt good.
Also, this is not a thrift store.
None of this is for sale, but it kind of gives thrift store vibes.
"Working in a Charity Shop" or sometimes called a "Thrift Store" in...
and today we're going to look at working in a charity shop, or sometimes called a thrift store in...
I think it was $8 from another thrift store, and my husband made it into a table, like a craft play table for my kids, and they could draw on it.
So if you want to know why we're giving away a door, it's because we bought a super cheap used door—I think it was $8—from another thrift store,
that is probably what that says anyway this is a maybe this one I don't think I ever showed this in a video I don't remember I thrifted this in Japan there is a fantastic fantastic thrift store in Harajuku called Jin's?
I think it was called Jin's it's been so long since I was there but it's like a more expensive thrift store I wouldn't even necessarily call it a thrift store I feel like the label would more be like a vintage store because their selection it only seems to be vintage clothing and it's like all very good quality heavy thick fabrics like really well made I feel like they don't sell anything in that store that is younger than 20 years old kind of thing or maybe 15ish years old they only seem to stock stuff that's older than that this is a Disney sweater and the stains I think the stains were on it when I got it because it was in the it was like on a table and everything was really heavily reduced and I think that's why because it was stained and it's another one of these things where the stains just stubbornly won't come out it's got Winnie the Pooh on it and it says I've actually never read it it says oh the butterflies are flying it's so cute and you can tell it's old when you pick it up like it's sort of it's going stiff this one is another one that probably needs some good fabric softener added to it but it's just it's so old that it's like not crusty but it's just it's hard and stiff it's really it was once upon a time fleecy on the inside but I can see I can see that it was fleecy but it's so old that the fleeciness has kind of worn down and it's lost it's plushness but it's like a an actual vintage piece I looked this up and it's from like 1990 something I think actually between countries there's actually a difference in the categorisation of vintage and antique in Australia something has to be I believe 50 years old to be considered vintage but I think in America and maybe Japan and other countries 20 years old is vintage I can't remember exactly how old that I worked out this one was this is 100% cotton it's made in Russia which that in itself tells me how old this is like how long has it been since the Disney store made sweaters in Russia it's just it's a really cool piece to have it's a quality item yes it's not as plush as it probably was once upon a time but it's just so cool and also the colour like I said I gravitate towards these very light colours as much as they might wash me out they make me very very happy so the Winnie the Pooh sweater from the Disney store that has to stay I'm sorry to anyone that got their hopes up thinking they could nab that on my Depop stay away hiss you can't have it this one I don't I shouldn't even have this this is a big mistake so I did a video I don't think I've uploaded it by the time this has gone live but I did a video from the designer store The Iconic here in Australia it's like a store that sells various designer brands and this brand Local Heroes I tried a two piece sweat set and I liked it but I didn't love it and I returned it and then they returned this to me and they said it was missing its tag and I was like and then I went back and watched the footage and actually when I pulled it out of the parcel and I unboxed it and I tried it on it didn't have a tag on it so I was like it might be missing its tag but that's not my fault but they were like yeah no because you sent it back without a tag on it you can't have a refund so now I just have this I can't complain really because it's so cute like it's it's a really lovely colour look at the difference between the two shades of yellow which one would Alex gravitate more towards what did we learn from the green one I love this shade and I didn't keep it in that original video purely because it was quite expensive I don't remember exactly how much it was but I think it was like a hundred and something dollars maybe for this sweater I really like the combination of the buttercup yellow and the green I didn't keep it because it was too expensive but now I'm stuck with it because they wouldn't give me a refund for it so I'm not sure I really really like it I've never worn it because it's it's so expensive like it's such an expensive sweater that every time I look at it one I feel spite towards it because I'm like I'm not meant to have this because I tried to return it and number two then I go oh well I should wear it but it costs so much money I shouldn't wear it because I don't want to get it dirt I don't want to get soy sauce on it I don't want it to end up in my pile of these sweaters I paint in so I've been too scared to wear it but um you know what for now I'm going to keep it I'm going to put it in the keep pile because it's a beautiful colour and I hereby declare that I shall wear it and this one this is very cute this is lazy oaf I believe that I got this in that ASOS video as well this is not not comfortable inside huh having just tried on every one of those pullovers this is the least comfortable one of all of them it's cute it says lazy but I do remember when I made this video I remember complaining about this I remember whinging about lazy oaf being expensive and not great quality and then saying that the daisy street ones felt really nice and they were much cheaper yeah it still rings true I think I should sell this because if I sell this on depop I'll probably be able to get a fair bit of money for it because it's lazy oaf so people will probably be willing to pay a bit more for this one meaning we can raise a bit more for charity so this one can go up it's also again look because it's a slightly cropped one I guess I've just I've changed a lot you know like I filmed that ASOS video a year ago and the one thing that I've learnt in that time is how much I appreciate comfort and I'm really not leaning so much toward cropped things anymore so uh that's it that's the pile of pullovers obviously there's a huge amount of other clothing to go through but you're gonna have to come back for part 3 and part 4 and part 5 and part 6 and who knows how many parts that there are going to be I'm feeling a lot better right now actually than what I did when I started this when I sat down to film this video I was like I feel terrible maybe it was the chamomile tea or maybe it was the presence of my precious dog I hope the presence of the precious dog has made you feel good today so uh with that thank you so much HelloFresh for sponsoring today's video I hope that you guys enjoyed it if you like this style of like lo-fi sit with Alex and her dog and just talk just have a chat tell stories if you like this sort of video please give me a thumbs up because it's very easy to make this sort of content you know often when I have to do the whole like put on a full lace of makeup and put on all the big lights and do my hair really nicely and stand there and sort of present to you guys and model clothing and do like the full body shots where I'm wearing high heels and modeling the stuff for you mentally it's quite draining to do that sort of thing and the thought of it I often will put off having to film videos like that because I'm like just the thought of it like it's such a daunting thing such a big thing to have to like mentally summon up the courage to like model for people if that makes sense but it's very easy for me to just kind of sit back and just chuck on some clothes that I have and tell you guys a story so if you liked this format then please give me a thumbs up on the video and I'm really excited to carry on with my wardrobe clear out series because I've had these clothes for such a long time and I'm as I mentioned in part one I've been holding on to a lot of things because I wanted to host another charity event so that I could sell them in person so I've just been hanging on to things so I'm like I'll just wait until we can have large gatherings and I can host an event but I don't know when that's going to be and I'm really looking forward to just clearing things out and sort of having a fresh room and not having the shelves so fully stuffed and just having it nice and clean culling it down to a selection of things that I wear all the time and there's going to be nothing on the shelves that are things that I don't wear you know I'm really looking forward to it so please turn on notifications so you know when I post part three and four and all that and with that thank you guys so much for watching no no wait wait wait sorry important about the depop thing there's going to be a launch date because I've got so many parts to this video that I have to you know I figured it would be a bit mean if I like posted part one and then put those things up for sale and then people bought some of those things and then like a week later I post part two and someone's already bought stuff from part one and they've paid for shipping but then they see something in part two that they want and then they've got to buy that and then pay for shipping again and then if I post part three and they want something they don't pay for shipping again I was like no no I think it's probably just better for me to get all of the wardrobe videos out and then say at the end of it okay guys like if you watch the whole series at this date at this time the items will go up on depop so that's your answer for anyone that's leaving a comment right now like there's no items on her depop what's going on that's why I'll tell you guys later down the track like an actual official launch date so that people can like they can line up and wait for the day we can crash the site no I don't think there'll be that many people but anyway so that's it thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you next time you
I'll start off with this here This is a planter pot This was $6 It has no brand written on the bottom of it or anything So I'm not really sure where it's from It's very heavy Beautiful shade of pink I don't know exactly which plant I want to put in it yet But at the moment, I'll just sit this Syngonium in it I've only just recently gotten into plants And lately, before Thriftmas, what I was doing Was buying all of my pots from cheap places like Target and Kmart But now that I realise that just about every single thrift store you go to You can find a pot for your plants I'm never going to buy brand new pots ever again And also, I really like the thought of having a whole bunch of different Quirky, unique pots in my plant room So really, really excited about this You know, if you find anything like this that will house a nursing pot Even if it's not the right colour for the colour scheme you're going for It's very, very easy to just spray paint it Check out Thriftmas Day 5 I spray painted a bunch of things that I bought from thrift stores And I used a matte pink spray paint And they turned out so well So even if you find a black planter pot at a second hand store And you want to make it pink, it's very, very easy to do so I was just very lucky that I found this one already pink Right off the bat, very happy with this Do you see this?
I have to have it Even though it's not really my typical pastel colour scheme I actually have a Dark Academia thrift store haul coming up If you're into Dark Academia fashion I have some incredible finds The colour palette is mostly like Brown, burgundy, dark green, navy Lots of leather And I feel like this will probably have a place in that haul This is going to look amazing with high-waisted flared pants It's giving me really, really retro vibes Almost like that girl from Scooby-Doo That one Now this was an interesting one This is from the store Bardot Which was my dream store when I was younger When I was in school If I ever got money for my birthday or anything I wanted to go to Bardot to spend it Because it was pricey and nice quality clothing So this originally, the tag is on it here This was $99 I got it for $15 This is absolutely beautiful It has boning all the way through it So it's holding its shape really, really well I don't have a lot going on here But it's making me look like I do So I've got to figure out how I'm going to style this one I almost feel like just tight black skinny jeans or something Or maybe like a black pencil skirt would be nice It's very pin-up, I would say Polka dots make me very, very happy So I was overjoyed when I found this one And also the fact that it's brand new with tags still on it Someone bought it and never wore it And then I got it for $15 when they paid $100 for it So I feel like great success Speaking of great success This dress Oh, this is beautiful So this brand, this is Forever New Now Forever New, I would say it's similar to Forever 21 But it's not really It's probably much better quality than Forever 21 Forever 21 to me is very, very cheap Like you go in there and you can get things for $5, $10 Forever New is an Australian store And it's quite pricey It's where a lot of girls go to get their prom dresses and things like that Most items are over $60, I would say So this is probably new I reckon this would have been like at least $100 The colour is stunning So I got this for $12 It's got a really nice sort of silky layer on the inside So it is double layered The way that it fits around my waist The colour of it It's so precious and adorable And it makes me want to go to like a picnic or a tea party or something So for $12 this brings me infinite joy Alrighty, let's have a look at the next bag Now This, I couldn't believe when I spotted this If you watched the episode where Sam and I had a thrift challenge You might remember he got a coffee jar That had, uh Ideal for use at home or on safari This is the same company The exact same company And this is a milk jug So now we have two pieces from this collection This was $12 Which may be a little bit much I don't remember how much the coffee jar was Hang on, let me go get it Okay, so Sam's coffee jar Was $3 The milk jug was $12 So the coffee jar This was from Viddy's And the milk jug was from the Salvo's So their pricing is a little bit different here Could be because this came from Balgala Which is a very upper class area This one came from, uh Castle Hill Which is also kind of a fancy-ish area But not as fancy as Balgala So, look I guess if you add it together The $12 plus the $13 $15 for this beautiful, heavy, lovely ceramic coffee set That's actually not too bad at all So I'm really, really happy Something super, super interesting I picked up from that Salvo's Was this This was $9 But on the bottom it says That it's handmade in Turkey This is beautiful It's got this really interesting texture all over it It's been hand-painted $9 Probably a little bit much for something so little But this is so quirky and unique It's such a special piece I'm going to give this one to Tiasha As part of her Christmas present Tiasha absolutely loves bright, vivid colours She loves anything orange She likes bright purples, bright blues She's kind of like the opposite of me She doesn't like pastel colours She likes bold, bright, super bright colours So when I saw this I thought she's just going to love it And she's a plant mum as well And she loves propagating plants So she'll probably use this to propagate her plants I'm so excited to give her this I think she's going to love it!

During my time volunteering at the local thrift store, I learned how much I like customer service and the retail world in general.
